CARSON — LA Galaxy fell 2–1 to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Kansas City took the lead late in the first half when former Galaxy striker Dejan Joveljić found the back of the net. They doubled their advantage in the second half, with Lasse Berg Johnsen scoring from long range.

The Galaxy responded late, as Marco Reus scored in the 82nd minute to cut the deficit to 2–1. LA pushed forward in search of an equalizer, creating late pressure in the closing minutes.

Despite the late push, Sporting Kansas City held on to secure all three points.
