NASHVILLE — The Boys in Gold were back at home Saturday night to face Robert Lewandowski and the Chicago Fire. Nashville remains atop of the MLS standings with a 3-0 win over Fire and a spot secured in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Nashville’s DP trio found themselves on the scoresheet and put on quite a show for supporters. Sam Surridge opened it up in the 33rd minute scoring his eighth goal in six matches with an assist from Reed Baker-Whiting and Matthew Corcoran. Christian Espinoza doubled the lead in the 78th minute, assisted by Andy Najar. Hany Mukhtar finished the job in the 87th minute of play, sealing the win with a feisty two touch through the posts.
NSC once again marked history at GEODIS Park, collecting multiple club records: 17 regular season wins, 57 regular season points, 39 goals on home soil, and remains the only team unbeaten at home in league play. The Boys in Gold were the first to clinch a spot in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, their sixth appearance in postseason.
Nashville look to continue the streak when they return home for Harry Potter night Saturday, September 26 to host Toronto FC at 7:30pm CT.
