ANGEL CITY FC 1-1 WASHINGTON SPIRIT

LOS ANGELES — Angel City FC earned a 1-1 draw against the Washington Spirit after a late equalizer from Ally Sentnor.
Angel City started on the front foot, controlling possession and looking dangerous in the attacking third. Sentnor and Chilufya gave Washington problems with their movement, while the hosts looked to create space out wide and attack the Spirit back line. Washington eventually settled into the match and began finding opportunities in transition, with Trinity Rodman hitting the post on one of the Spirit’s best early chances.
Rodman eventually broke the deadlock, attacking the Angel City defense with pace before beating Angelina Anderson at the near post. The goal marked Rodman’s 10th of the season and gave Washington a 1-0 advantage.
Angel City continued pushing forward rather than sitting back. Their pressure finally paid off late when Sentnor collected the ball in the outside channel, cut centrally and unleashed a powerful strike from distance that bent away from the goalkeeper and into the net.
Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing minutes, but neither could find the final touch as the match finished 1-1. For Angel City, Sentnor’s first goal for the club proved enough to rescue a point at home.
