ATLANTA — Atlanta United started the game off well against Chicago Fire last night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, scoring just four minutes into the match. Miguel Almirón assisted Tomás Jacob, who put Atlanta up 1-0 early.

Atlanta looked good at first, but Chicago slowly got into the game and found the equalizer in the 30th minute through Anton Salétros. Both teams created some opportunities after that, but neither could score again before halftime, leaving the game tied at 1-1.

Things got tougher for Atlanta in the second half when Chicago scored in the 51st and 60th minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Atlanta kept fighting and got one back in the 68th minute when Breel Embolo scored with a header, making it 3-2. After that, Atlanta tried to find another goal and get back into the game, but Chicago’s defense held up and secured the win.

It was a disappointing result for Atlanta United, especially playing at home. They had a strong start and showed some effort trying to come back late in the game, but defensive mistakes made things difficult.
