BALTIMORE — Mexico and Colombia went head-to-head at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, in front of 67,117 fans. Colombia got on the board early, with Luis Suárez scoring inside the first 10 minutes. Mexico kept fighting and created several chances throughout the first half, including opportunities that hit the crossbar and post, but Colombia held onto the lead going into halftime.
Mexico came out stronger in the second half, controlling more of the possession and looking for the equalizer. El Tri finally found it in the 62nd minute when 17-year-old Gilberto Mora found the back of the net after a great individual play, scoring his first goal for Mexico’s senior national team.
Both teams continued to battle until the final whistle, but neither side could find the winning goal. The match ended 1-1 after an exciting night of international soccer in Baltimore.
