NASHVILLE — Nashville kicked off their first of three matches in Leagues Cup Phase one on Wednesday as they fell short to LIGA MX’s Club León. The August 5th battle marked NSC’s 100th match at GEODIS park since the build in 2022.
The Boys in Gold welcomed a rather young starting eleven at the Castle with goalkeeper Xavier Valdez, midfielder Charles-Emile Brunet and attacker Elias Saad making their first career start for NSC. Notable names missing from the active roster: Hany Mukhtar (injury), Christian Espinoza (injury).
In the late 78th minute, León’s Daniel Arcila found the net between gold jerseys solidifying their three points on the road.
Nashville continues their Leagues Cup streak on Sunday, August 9 back at home at 7pm CT.
