ANGEL CITY VS. SAN DIEGO WAVE FC
Angel City FC visited cross-town rival San Diego Wave in a lively first half that saw plenty of back-and-forth action. Both sides created promising opportunities, but despite their aggressive attacks, most shots failed to find the target as the match remained tightly contested heading into the break.
The breakthrough finally came in the 84th minute for San Diego Wave. After battling for possession in their own half, the Wave launched a swift counterattack down the right flank led by Makenzy Robbe. Her initial low cross was deflected back into her path, and with one quick touch, she fired a shot from a seemingly impossible angle that found the back of the net to give San Diego the late lead.
In a wild, back-and-forth finish, Angel City kept pressing in search of the equalizer. Their persistence paid off in the 91st minute of seven added minutes, when a corner kick created chaos inside the box. The loose ball rolled out to the right side, where Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir whipped in a cross that found Alanna Kennedy, who headed home the dramatic late equalizer to level the match.
