PORTLAND TIMBERS VS. LAFC
The Portland Timbers came out strong, surprising LAFC with their energy and precision. The breakthrough came just before halftime, when Ian Smith delivered a perfect corner kick to Cristhian Paredes, who rose above the defenders near the penalty spot and powered a header into the top corner to give Portland the lead.
The match went back and forth with both sides creating dangerous chances and goalkeepers stepping up with key saves on each end. Despite LAFC’s relentless pressure in the second half, they couldn’t find the breakthrough, as the Timbers held firm to secure a hard-fought 1–0 victory.
