AUSTIN — San Diego FC taking a lead at 3 - 0, Austin FC made an AMAZING comeback this past Saturday, making it into a draw, 3-3, and scored ALL 3 in the last 20 minutes of the second half.
In the 50’ and 64’ minute of the first half, Anibal Godoy and Marcus Ingvartsen from San Diego scored first and third goal, but for the second goal, Mikkel Desler from Austin FC accidentally scored an own goal on the 57’.
Although Austin FC felt despair, little did they know their battle would come to a draw. In the 73’, Brandon Vazquez headed in Ervin Torres’ cross making the first goal and making his first goal since returning from an ACL injury. In the 82’ and 86’, FOUR minutes apart, Christian Ramirez made two amazing goals!
What makes this significant is that Austin FC had never come back from three goals before and because of this draw, the teams unbeaten streak extended to eight matches.
Austin FC didn’t actually allow San Diego a shot in the first, but eventually was able to score three goals and had 59% possession. Austin FC had 41% possession and had 13 shots on goal, although San Diego had 15.
