CHICAGO — Chicago Fire and Orlando City SC played to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday night, Oct. 28, at Soldier Field. Orlando took the lead in the 6th minute when Iván Angulo scored off a pass from Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann then doubled the lead in the 35th minute after he curled a shot past Chris Brady from outside the box after a setup from Vinícius Nogueira. Robert Lewandowski had the Fire’s best first-half chances, including a scissor kick that hit the post, but Chicago went into halftime down 2-0 despite controlling much of the play.

The Fire changed things after the break. Gregg Berhalter brought on Jonathan Bamba at halftime for Sergio Oregel. In the 57th minute, Leonardo Barroso crossed, and Bamba headed it into the net to make it 2-1. Twelve minutes later, in the 69th minute, Bamba fed the ball back to Maren Haile-Selassie, who finished into the right corner to level the match at 2-2. Bamba had a chance to win it in second-half stoppage time, but his shot was easily saved by Maxime Crepeau. The draw left the Fire fourth in the Eastern Conference and Orlando in 7th with two games remaining.
