CHICAGO STARS 0-6 NC COURAGE
Sep 6, 2026 • Martin Field
CHICAGO — The Chicago Stars FC endured a difficult afternoon against the North Carolina Courage, falling 6–0 in a match that quickly became controlled by the visitors. From the opening whistle, North Carolina played with confidence and purpose, pressing Chicago high and consistently creating opportunities in the attacking third. The Stars struggled to establish possession or build sustained momentum, leaving their defense under pressure for much of the first half as the Courage took a 2–0 advantage into the break.
Any hopes of a Chicago response in the second half were quickly shut down as North Carolina continued to dictate the tempo. The Courage moved the ball effectively, found space behind Chicago’s defensive lines and turned their opportunities into goals. Chicago continued battling despite the growing deficit, but the Stars were unable to generate enough quality chances to shift the momentum. By the closing stages, North Carolina had firmly taken control of every phase of the match.
The 6–0 final score reflected a dominant performance from the Courage and a difficult day for a Chicago side searching for answers. For the Stars, the result is one they will want to learn from quickly as they continue through the season. For North Carolina, it was a statement performance — organized defensively, dangerous going forward and clinical when opportunities arrived. From the sidelines, the difference was clear: the Courage controlled the match from beginning to end and never allowed Chicago an opportunity to settle into the game.
