HOUSTON — Houston Dynamo delivered a dominant 3-0 win over Austin FC on July 25th at Shell Energy Stadium, putting together one of their strongest performances of the season. The official attendance of the match was 19,869, creating an overall great atmosphere for Texas fans. It was also a very special night for club legend Héctor Herrera, who was honored for making his 100th appearance for Houston Dynamo. The moment was truly memorable for fans who were looking forward to seeing Herrera and bring an ovation to his contributions to the club.
Upon the start of the match, Mateusz Bogusz quickly got Houston on the board with his first goal in the 12th minute, finishing a pass from Ezequiel Ponce. Guilherme Augusto then doubled the lead in the 29th minute before Bogusz added his second goal just three minutes later. Houston Dynamo finished off the first half with a comfortable 3-0 advantage. Although Austin came out with more energy in the second half, Houston maintained its defense strong. Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, came up with a few key saves for Austin’s 4 shots on target. Dynamo finished the match with a slight edge in possession with 52% to 48% and a 3-0 win.
