LOS ANGELES — The Colorado Rapids walked out of BMO Stadium with a hard earned point, holding LAFC to a 0-0 draw in a Western Conference clash that never quite found a breakthrough.

From the start, the Rapids looked comfortable. They held possession, pressed aggressively, and made it difficult for LAFC to build anything meaningful going forward. LAFC came out with a different lineup and later made some adjustments to their shape, but they struggled to find any real rhythm in the first half as Colorado dictated the pace.

Colorado created some of the better chances before halftime. Dante Sealy was active on the wing, taking on defenders and forcing plays into dangerous areas, including a cross that nearly led to an own goal. Rafael Navarro also found space in the attack, but the finishing just wasn’t there. LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was called into action a few times to keep things level going into the break.

LAFC looked sharper coming out of halftime. A shift in their setup helped them get more control in midfield, and they started to create better chances, especially through Denis Bouanga and their wide players. A few opportunities came close, but none were able to find the back of the net.

Colorado stayed organized defensively and handled the pressure well. Zack Steffen and the back line did their job, keeping LAFC from capitalizing during their best stretch of the match.

Late in the game, both teams pushed for a winner. Colorado had some promising moments on the counter, especially with fresh legs off the bench, but couldn’t make the final pass count. LAFC continued to apply pressure, but like Colorado earlier in the match, they couldn’t convert.

In the end, it finished scoreless. Colorado will likely feel good about earning a point on the road after controlling much of the first half, marking their first ever point at BMO Stadium, while LAFC will look to build more consistency as they continue working through different lineup and tactical adjustments.

  • Both sides finished level with 5 shots each

  • Colorado held a slight edge in shots on target, 2 to LAFC 1

  • Colorado controlled possession with 72.5% compared to LAFC 27.5%
