NASHVILLE — MLS is back and so are the Boys in Gold, Nashville SC takes the win over Atlanta United 1-0 at GEODIS Park on Friday night. They remain unbeaten in five of their last six matches against Atlanta. Supporters filled the stadium with a sold out crowd of 30,109 in attendance.
Shak Mohammed secured the win for Nashville late in the second half with a header into the net assisted by Alex Muyl. This marks Mohammed’s second career goal for Nashville SC. Brian Schwake gave fans another stellar performance with five saves, securing his seventh shut out of the season.
Nashville returned from the break with several players left off of the roster due to injury - Christian Espinoza, Warren Madrigal, Reed Baker-Whiting. Coach Callaghan has no timeline on when players may return, though he believes Espinoza is on a more short term basis. Both Sam Surridge and Eddie Tagseth took the pitch after injuries sustained back in April. Surridge got his first start since injury while Tagseth made his first appearance back in gold.
NSC fans will be back at home on Wednesday, July 22 at 7:30pm to watch their team take on CF Montréal.
