ORLANDO CITY SC 2-1 REAL SALT LAKE

Aug 22, 2026
Att. 17,612 • Inter.co Stadium

ORLANDO — Orlando welcomed the boys from Salt Lake City to Inter.co stadium on this matchday, with an attendance of 17,612. An important match for both teams as they're both fighting for playoff spots in their respective conferences. The big headliner for Real Salt Lake Diego Luna started his night on the bench, a bit of a head scratcher after his Goal and Assist performance on wednesday against FC Dallas. Orlando saw 3 changes in their starting lineup, most notable being Thiago and Pasalic over Ellis and Spicer.

The game was slow and methodical up to the 36th minute when Real Salt Lake found the opener courtesy of Dominik Marczuk. This made it their 3rd game in a row allowing the first goal in the match, an issue yet to be fixed by Orlando.

The Lions applied pressure in the 2nd half, that consistent pushing caused their first goal. A goal from Antoine Griezmann after a deflection from Daryl Dike's shot in the 53rd minute. The scoring didn't end there as Griezmann would bag the winner in the 83rd from a cross from Tyrese Spicer.

The first of many magical nights from Le Petit Prince. His first brace as a lion comes at a time Orlando very much needed it, their playoff hopes staying alive as they make a push in the back half of the season. Orlando travels to Minnesota next weekend and face Minnesota United, Another very winnable game for Orlando as Minnesota stands at 10th in the west. With the Win tonight Orlando moves to 9th with 24 points in the east.
